Belize Firefighters Can Now Save Lives with CPR

In September 2018 while firefighter/medic Mike Konvicka of Hanover Fire & EMS (Virginia, US) trained firefighters in Belize how to handle hazmat situations, Belize Heroes president Mac McFarlane taught them cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) and first aid.

This training becomes crucial when treating victims who are contaminated. Firefighters may need to perform life-saving skills without introducing or exposing other emergency services providers who are not in the “hot zone.”

This additional training allows Belizean first responders to sustain life until such time that the patient can be decontaminated and prepared for transport.

Belize Heroes offers CPR and first aid classes to groups of six or more in and around Virginia. Get your American Heart Association certification at a discount rate.

Not only could you save a life with your new skills, but 100% goes to training Belize firefighters. Triple win!
